Continuing our mixed terrain populaires with Viewpoint 100k.

This route starts at the River Path Del Mar parking lot, just next door to the Viewpoint Brewing Co. At the start you'll get on the Coast to Crest trail to the Polo Grounds, where you'll continue on El Camino Real, Linea Del Cielo and Paseo Delicias in Rancho Santa Fe. Just past the Bing Crosby Estates, you'll jump on the San Dieguito River Park trail, making your way pass Lake Hodges Dam and then allong the gravel sections of Lake St. At Herdandez Hideaway, ou have the option to continue on trail or ride on Lake Dr until the northern most point before turning south on Lake Hodges Way to the visitor center. When you reach the parking lot, turn left toward the eastern side where you'll continue on the trail pass the bridge and under the freeway (I-15). It is recommended that you stop at the Chevron or Shell on Sunset Dr just before Via Rancho Pkwy before continuing on Mule Hill Trail. Be careful of soft sand on some sections. Right where the trail turns left, you'll reach Highland Valley Rd where you'll head to Rancho Bernardo and then to Poway on Espola, climbing a little more on Sycamore Canyon Rd. Just when you ride under the Scripps Poway Pkwy overpass, you'll turn right to ride on the Beeler Canyon Trail that takes you to Pomerado, where you'll continue on the Poway/Penaquitos Creek trail to Del Mar Mesa and back to the start.
